It's as if I can't stop blogging about international women's day. I already posted a slide show from the People's Health Movement Latin America. And now we go to the Philippines for a video report on the women's day march that was held last March 8. It was made by Chris (who used to be our nerd at the intal office) and features my dear friends Obeth and Emmi, our very own Stefanie, the amazing Sr. Mary-Jon, Rep. Liza and many more friends from both sexes. Gabriela rules!

Omdat ik vanuit Leuven de coördinator ben voor de anti-oorlogsbetoging van zondag ben ik deze week elke avond bezig met de praktische beslommeringen die erbij komen kijken. De opvolging van de vele vrijwilligers die een noodzakelijk(e) hand(je) toesteken maakt het heel plezant om te doen. Maar het is natuurlijk niet alleen de voorbereiding van de mars zelf waar we ons deze week op richten.

Ook de promotie slorpt heel wat energie op. Niet alleen flyers, affiches en mails worden verstuurd. Ook via interviews, die digitaal op het internet belanden, doen we ons best om de opkomst zo Lire plus

I've always been wary about reports on supposed human rights violations in Cuba. All too often, they only serve to discredit the efforts of the Cuban government to defend the social gains of the revolution. But an article I found on a news site today made me think twice. Indeed, human rights are threatened in Cuba... by the United States that is.
